I stand amazed at the glory of God. He is able to take my life and yours, with al the heartache, all the pain, all the disappointments, all the regrets, and all the missed opportunities, and use each one of us for His glory. C. S. Lewis cites, "A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word "darkness" on the walls of his cell.
Give God the glory today, my friend, for He inhabits our praise.
Man struggles in many ways to attain wealth and riches but, these commodities grow from our thought through seeds only we can plant. Our weaknesses and strengths are our own, not another's; they are brought about by ourselves, not by another; and they can be altered only by ourselves, never by somebody else. A man's condition is his own. His sufferings as well as his happiness evolves from within. "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7)
Has your mind ever wandered on things that cause you to become sad, depressed or hopeless? Let me bring your mind then, to mindfulness. Mindfulness is not a matter of not thinking; it allows you to notice when the mind wanders and simply guiding it back to what’s happening, now. A state of open, active attention on the present.
People who are optimistic see the simple things in life as a constant source of joy – the bright rays of the sun, the birds chirping and singing, spontaneous laughter, falling in the mud and getting up, the diversity in nature. These people count their blessings and are usually extremely happy. Even when life is challenging and moments are dark, they maintain that spirit of hope and optimism because they are aware that the best is yet to come.
The death of a loved one brings devastating grief but, I cling to the assurance that there is hope. I realize that repeated thinking and talking about the relationships with the loved one is essential to healing. Trying to express deep feelings about the loss gives confirmation of the reality of the loss, facilitates the experience of pain, and produces a soothing effect.
